JEANNE MURKA
May 17, 1939 - December 21, 2021
After a seven year battle with Alzheimer's, Mom passed away peacefully December 21 at Deer Lodge Centre.
Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband Ed Murka. Left to grieve are her children, Margaret Kirkwood (Tom), Ann Lowe (Ron), Joe Kirkwood (Andrea), Christine Rohof (Shane), as well numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in many parts of the United States and Canada.
Mom was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and made the brave decision to leave her family and immigrate to Canada in 1967. Her courage in doing so opened up a better world and provided numerous opportunities for all her children. Jeanne always remained proud of her Irish heritage. While in Winnipeg, she spent most of her time working for Marks & Spencer and it was there that she developed lifelong friendships. After spending many years in Winnipeg, Jeanne and Eddy became adventurous and lived for periods of time in St. Catharines, Ontario; Calgary, Alberta; Rochester, New York; and finally settled in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Thank you to all the staff at Deer Lodge Tower 7 for the wonderful care over the last three years.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.
