August 27, 1950 - December 27, 2021

Suddenly on Monday, December 27, 2021, Kristine Olive Cox, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 71 years.
Kristine is survived by her daughters, Diane (Melvin) and Karen; her son Christopher; her grandchildren, Bradley, Katherine and Kolby; brother David (Doris); sisters, Susan (Jim) and Lillian (Chris); sister-in-law Lil; son-in-law Ron; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Keith, son Brian, brother Billy, parents, Magnus and Julia, and in-laws, Robert and Edna Cox.
Kristine was born on August 27, 1950 in Selkirk, Manitoba, where she resided most of her life. She began her working career as a dispatcher for her dad's taxi company where she met her husband to be. She continued working as a dispatcher until the age of 40 when she decided to go back to school to receive her grade 12 and become a health care aide. She worked at Red River Place until she retired after 17 years to care for her family.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, a caring friend; she cared for all. She would always put her family first.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for Mom's care. We would also like to thank Dr. Corso, Dr. Whiley and all the nurses of the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital for taking care of Mom.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
But we remember now in love,
Your life from start to end,
And we're just glad we knew you,
As Mother, and as friend.

Condolences may be left on her tribute wall at
Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk
in care of arrangements.

  • I grew up with Kris and went to the same school and in the same rooms too. I am so sad to hear of her passing. She was always a friend even after all time that passed. She will be missed. - Posted by: valerie lillie (friend) on: Jan 08, 2022
