GILLES FRANCOIS FOREST

Surrounded by his loving family, Gilles Forest passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on December 30, 2021, at the age of 80 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Denise (née Gervais); children: Normand, Jacqueline (Mark), Carole, David (Jasmina), and Dominique (Nicole); 21 grandchildren: Matthew (Laurisa), Nicholas (Candace), Theresa (Branden), Kristopher, Patrick (Sarah), Phillip, Jacinta, Thomas, Eric, Julia, Gabriel and Raphael, Sébastien, Geneviève, Myriam, Lucas, Alexandre, Kolbe, Jovontae, Kyliah, and Elias; and three great-grandchildren: Ike, Lynn, and Allyson; siblings: Yvette, Sr. Marguerite S.G.M., and Raoul (Agathe); along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Gilles was predeceased by his parents, Napoléon and Desanges (née Tétreault), and siblings: Gertrude, Laurent, Jeannette, André, Hélène, Léo, Raymond, Marcel and Hervé.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, cremation has taken place and a funeral Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Victoria Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion. The family also thanks all friends and extended family members who sent messages of love, support and prayers to Papa through our group chat in the last few days of his hospitalization. This was of great comfort in the ending stage of his journey on earth.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humour, his lovely singing, his caring and unconditional love for all, and as a man of great faith, connected to God through prayer and daily Eucharist.

May he now join the angels in heaven
to sing "Glory to God and Peace on Earth".
We love you; keep on watching over us.

• My deepest sympathies to you Denise and family. I loved listening to Gilles sing at the St. Malo Church as it truly filled my heart in God. Of course his sense of humour was so much fun! Gilles was such a good and faithful man, and His love for God was spread to those who met him and surrounded him. Being surrounded by people like Gilles, helped me grow my faith. I will always treasure this. Thank you Gilles for using God’s gifts to those around you. - Posted by: Gabrielle (Forest) Musick (My Dad, Camille Forest, and Gilles were cousins) on: Jan 08, 2022
