WILLIAM KELLY MOSS
A bright light went out on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, when Kelly Moss passed away suddenly.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deanna, sons, Greg Carlson (Alison), Grant Carlson (Joan) and Darren Carlson (Jennifer), and five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Amy (Max), Sydney, Mark (Anne-Charlotte) and Owen. Also survived by brother Terry (Susan), sister Cathy (Charlie) and special nephews, Jamie, Brian (Jennifer) and niece Kelly (Kurt) and their families. He will be missed by many.
Kelly was deeply grateful for the care he received from the wonderful doctors and nurses of Manitoba, and for medical guidance from his lifelong friend, Dr. Jack Toole.
A graduate from Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba Kelly worked for National Cash Register, Feed Rite Mills, Powell Equipment, Nesbitt Thompson and, finally, his own property management business, Wilton Properties. Kelly's business partners became lifelong friends.
Kelly was the "King of Lindsay Street". He enjoyed his daily walk with Charlie, and delighted neighbours with Halloween and Christmas displays. He often did spontaneous gestures of kindness for family, friends and even those he didn't know, purely to give people joy. He had a passion for collecting art and unique artifacts. He was an avid and successful curler, winning the Canadian University Championship and was voted all-star Second in the Manitoba British Consols curling championships.
Kelly's special place was Lake of the Woods. From the time he was two weeks old, he never missed a summer at the lake. Kelly loved being at the Moss family cottage at Clearwater Bay, where he became a champion sailor and, later, at his own family cottage at Echo Bay, amassing an armada of boats over the years. He loved lake life, being with friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Kelly always had a funny story to tell.
A celebration to honour his life will be held at a later date.

Kelly was a fabulous gentleman to work with. Many pranks during our working together. We both worked at Penner’s a short time and he had the pulse of the organization. He was controller and often spent time at ‘the shop’ in the evenings. A fun loving caring person! RIP - Posted by: Ron Derksen (Co worker in the 70’s) on: Jan 15, 2022
