ANNETTE IRENE MCCARTHY
On Thursday, December 30, 2021, Annette Irene McCarthy, passed away at the age of 71 at the Concordia Hospital.
Annette is survived by her son Sean Carriere and his children, Michael, Madison and Mackenzie. She also leaves to mourn her Dutch family, Sander, Inge, Silvjan and Kai Derlagen; her siblings, Doris Dubbert (Albert), Louise Beaudry, Lorraine Swick, Eveline Wall (Den), Florence LaPointe (Mike), and Marcel McCarthy; her sister-in-law Anne Carriere (Barry); as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Annette was predeceased by her daughter Monica Carriere (2018); her parents Rose (née Fiola) and Emilien McCarthy; her children's father Hector Carriere; and her brothers, Ronald, Denis and Normand.
Annette spent her life spreading unconditional love, unmatched generosity, and compassion to everyone she encountered. She worked many years in a women's shelter using her special qualities to help others in need. She had a passion for gardening and cooking, with the goal of sharing her love through food. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Annette, instantly felt her beautiful soul. This was also true of any animal she encountered. She was an animal whisperer. Annette had so many pets throughout her life and spent her senior years pet-sitting for others. There was no animal too challenging for Annette.
Annette, rest in peace with Monica, your pets and all your loved ones who have passed before you.
A private Celebration of Life will take place in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations directly to The Salvation Army.
