GLADYS DOREEN MITCHELL
October 7, 1932 - January 2, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys at 89 years of age after a lengthy illness.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, William (Bill) and children, Bonnie, Brad and Kirby (Annette). She will be sadly missed by her granddaughter Melissa (Jeffrey Tompkins) and grandson Jeffery.
Gladys was born in Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg, where she met Bill and eventually were married on October 24, 1953. They resided in the St. Vital area where they raised their children. They enjoyed trips to Grand Forks for a weekend together, and little day trips around Manitoba for lunch just to enjoy each other's company. Gladys was a very loving and caring person who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She spent the last four months in Seven Oaks Hospital where she peacefully succumbed to her illness.
Gladys's wishes were to be cremated with no service. She will be put to rest in St. Vital Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for taking such outstanding care of her during her stay and final days.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I just heard of Gladys's passing today. My condolences go out to Brad, Kirby, Bonnie and Bill. I have only seen or talked to Gladys on a few occasions over the past years but my memories of her go back to when I was a kid. I remember the family stopping over at our house in Saskatchewan on the way back to Winnipeg when her children were little. She was always so kind and had this room lighting smile. Her kindness, laughter and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. - Posted by: Randy Marchinko (cousin) on: Sep 05, 2022
