LILLIAN ANTONETTE BURGESS
(NEE RASMUSSEN)
FEBRUARY 16, 1931 - DECEMBER 28, 2021

Lillian passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children. She will be forever loved and missed by her children, Bill (Linda), Rob (Patrice), Rosemary (Donald) and Teresa Horobec (Bob) as well by her eight grandsons and their families which include her 15 great-grandchildren, and also four step-granddaughters and their families. Lillian is also survived by her dear sister, Gladys MacKay (Arnold).
Mom was employed at Eaton's in her younger years. Once she and Dad married and then had a family, she was a stay-at-home mom until she re-entered the workforce in 1974 for a 20-year career with the Canadian Wheat Board.
Mom and Dad enjoyed camping and traveling to Hawaii and Mexico with family and friends. Mom was the kindest, most thoughtful and sweet woman, always putting others before herself. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. Mom had a great love of God and her family and friends and will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in 2014 after 64 years of marriage.
We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Cornish 6 Misericordia Health Centre for their care and compassion for Mom and for us.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at St. Alphonsus Church, 315 Munroe Ave., Winnipeg. As per COVID protocol, we need to limit to fully vaccinated persons and proof of vaccination is required. Those that wish to join the family virtually, you may do so by visiting the parish's Facebook Page at St. Alphonsus Church – Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg. Lillian's grandsons will be her pallbearers – Jared, Keith, Stephen, David, Matthew, TK, Eric and Braeden. Flowers gratefully declined; if friends so desire, donations may be made the Manitoba Lung Association or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
