FRANCES VICTORIA MIZAK
(nee OSTROWSKI)
September 4, 1922 - January 4, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Frances Mizak.
Mom peacefully left us, to join many others who went before her, on January 4th, 2022 at the age of 99.
She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Peter Mizak (Val), Robert Mizak (Sheila), David Mizak (Dorothy), Linda Bumstead (Ken), Margaret Bovens, Gordon Mizak (Jill), Kathy Chapiel (Lawrie) and Rodney Mizak (Karen); grandchildren, Michael, Derek, Jason, Kyle, Robbie, Shelley, Danny, Angel, Kevin, Colin, Kendra, Erin, Katie, Tyler, Jennifer, Eric, Kaya, Jarod, Alex and their families; also many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mom spent her life caring for her family. In later years she took up painting and has left us with many beautiful pieces of art. Mom loved knitting and knitted many mitts for those in need. She loved travelling, playing cards, bowling and spent many special hours socializing.
A private service will be on January 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed via www.greenacresfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Lupus Canada or a charity of choice.
We gratefully acknowledge Concordia Place for the care our mother received over the last couple of years.

  • Don't know even the words. Rodney I'm so sorry for your HUGE loss. After speaking to Karen she did make me realize you were blessed to be able to see her before. I'm sure she's looking down with her angel wings. Saying thank you my youngest boy, you brought so much joy to her. Don't get me wrong you were a little grief but more joy than the other. The encouragement you got from her for your passion for diving as a young boy. The proud mom with so many children. Yet she still made time for others to feel welcome. You spent alot of time at my house in our much younger years yet still today our friendship with you and Karen both has continued, my family extends there sincere condolences as well. It was hard for my mom to hear of your loss. I'm glad your mom got to see you landed in a loving caring relationship with a wonderful heart filled woman in Karen. Your mom knows your in a great place with someone who truly loves you. Don't forget that. So now heaven has another Angel one more to watch over you and keep you Karen and the rest of your family safe and when the time is right you will all be reunited again. Let's make that along time from now ok. Heart broken for you both my friends you came back for your family and you have suffered such losses in a short time. To your very large family our deepest sympathy goes without saying of course we are saddened for them all as well. Though I can't be there for you in person know I will be with you during the funeral. Remember say what heart wants to say she'll be there with you listening to her baby boy who became a grown man . But no Matter what age you will always be her baby boy. Continue making her proud for she will never really leave you, just in body never in spirit. So very sorry. Take care stay safe with lots of love Rita and Family. - Posted by: Rita Nimchonok (lifetime friends) on: Jan 09, 2022
