PAULETTE MARIE HUGGINS (GAUTHIER)
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paulette Marie Huggins, on December 29, 2021, at St. Boniface Hospital.
She was predeceased by her father, Henry Gauthier. Paulette will continue to be loved and remembered by her husband of 34 years, Gary Huggins and their daughters, Gabrielle (Dexter and baby), Sara (Scott) and Marissa. She will also be missed by her mother, Evelyne Gauthier, brother Robert Gauthier (Joanne, Alyssa and Cayla) and many close friends and family members.
Paulette was born in Winnipeg on October 15, 1966 at the Misericordia Hospital. She married her beloved husband Gary on May 30, 1987 and they settled in St. Vital where they raised their three girls. Paulette and Gary enjoyed spending time at the lake together, hiking, kayaking, and travelling with their girls. Mom will always be remembered for her quick wit, her sense of adventure, and her commitment and devotion to her family.
Paulette took on many roles in her 34 years as an educator, starting as a classroom teacher then obtaining her Post Baccalaureate and working in Special Education before moving into educational leadership. Paulette was a pillar in the French Immersion community and was known for her spirit as a lifelong learner. She will be greatly missed by the community at Ecole JB Mitchell School where she was the principal for seven years.
The family would like to acknowledge the phenomenal care and compassion provided by the staff on CR5 and the Acute Cardiac Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital.
Due to current restrictions, a private service is to be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cardiac Sciences Manitoba.

I knew Paulette as Madame Huggins while a student at École Victoria-Albert School. She was so kind, approachable and dedicated to the students of many backgrounds. I couldn’t be more shocked to hear this very sad news. My heart breaks for your family and friends Paulette. Though we had lost touch over the years, you were never forgotten and often on my mind.
