SYLVIA MARGARET SUSHNYK
(nee DANYLCHUK)

It is with sad hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our much beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, Sylvia on December 29, 2021. She will be greatly missed by her children: daughter Amanda (Jake) and son, James (Amy); grandchildren Kali, Kaia and Giules, and Aela and Kael who were the centrepieces of her life. Sylvia is survived by her brother, Danny Danylchuk and sisters-in-law Cecile Danylchuk and Linda Thompson. She was predeceased by husband Peter (Butch); parents, William and Margaret Danylchuk and brother, Robert.
Sylvia or "Sylv" as she was known to her family and friends was born in Vita, Manitoba. When she was young her family moved to Transcona where she met Peter. The pair loved to travel around Canada and the United States, something they continued to do at length when their family welcomed Amanda and James. Summers always included weekends at the cottage in Kenora and trips to North Dakota for shopping and camping. After Peter's passing, Mom moved into an apartment in North Kildonan close to family. She lived there until God called her home shortly after Christmas.
Mom was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Parish in Transcona, and was a devote woman of faith. She loved her family and her generosity to all knew no bounds which she proved time and time again. Mom had a great sense of humour and loved helping out at her church and bowling when she was physically able to. She loved reading and doing crosswords, and always had her hair curled and makeup on.
A Celebration of Sylvia's amazing life will take place in the future with family and friends.
Mom would donate to many charities as she could not tolerate the thought of hunger or homelessness. Donations can be made in her name to Siloam Mission in lieu of flowers.
We would like to thank the EMS staff, HSC emergency, and MICU staff for their care and compassion at such a hard time.
Rest in Peace dear Mom and Gramma, even though you have left us too soon we know that your spirit will live on with us until we all meet again in the great beyond.
We miss you so much, we will love you always. Xoxo - your kids.
