CARL BRIAN NAGTEGAAL
January 8, 1963 - September 13, 2021

Today would have been Carl's birthday, however, in God's infinite wisdom, He took Carl out of his pain and suffering on the early hours of September 13, 2021. We will forever miss Carl's smile, his gift for gab and his dreaming of going down south with all of us.
Carl's life started difficult as he was born two months premature and in those days Mom and Dad were told to take him home and enjoy him as he wouldn't live long. Well, Carl survived! Carl enjoyed hockey and football as well playing the piano. He was an excellent salesperson and had a photographic memory that enabled him to succeed all those years in the HVAC industry.
Carl is being missed by his mom, Bertha and siblings: Marlin (Susan), Jo-Ann, Jenny (Paul), Henry (Wendy), Esther (Steve), Beschier (Lisa), Teresa and their families. We are glad for the God-given time we had with Carl and we are especially grateful to Steve and Esther for taking care of him and providing such a good home for him during the past few years.
Carl had a strong faith and took such comfort in Psalm 23, especially the hope of going through the valley of the shadow of death that God would be there to guide and comfort him. In the end, Carl suffered a great deal and it was painful to watch a once vibrant, funny, articulate man become a shell of himself, yet, never losing faith in our saving God.

Always in our hearts.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I skimmed the obits on Saturday and did not immediately recognize Carl’s picture but it caught my attention and I was saddened to realize who it was. I worked for Carrier while he was in the parts dept and we saw each other daily. He was always a great person to deal with and we got along well. Just wanted to express my sympathy and condolences to his family and may he rest in peace…I know he will because he was a good person!! - Posted by: Jim Anderson (Co worker) on: Jan 09, 2022

  • He is also dealt missed by his immediate family. His wife Laurie Nagtegaal and kids Natasha (Braden), Aaron, Jaiann (Ryan), Meaghan (Jess), Rachel (Stephen), Tamarah and Kalli.
