MARY JOAN WILLOX
(nee HORNER)

June 14, 1942 - January 6, 2022

We lost an angel here on earth. Joan passed away peacefully, with her family beside her.
She leaves to mourn her husband Bill, of 59 years; daughters, Christine and Sharon; grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew, Emily and Julian; brother Roy (Lois), sisters-in-law, Joan (Allan) in Toronto, Fay (George) in BC, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends across the country.
We wish to thank Kildonan Personal Care Home and specifically the 3rd floor nurses and aides for all their kindness, care and support during her stay, and especially so for the last week of Joan's life.
As per Joan's wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place.
Joan will be truly missed, but never forgotten. All who knew her will carry her kind, loving memories forever.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My condolences to the family. I am a former student at APC, my children are grown now. Back when they were babies, Joan taught me how to be loving with my baby son. I enjoyed listening to her stories. Very lovely lady. Sending love. - Posted by: Roberta agnes godin (former student) on: Mar 29, 2022

  • So sorry for your loss to Mr. Willox, Chris and Sharon. I loved growing up having Mrs. Willox keeping her “mom” eyes on me and always looking out for me when us kids were up to no good. Although sometimes it was the moms that were up to no good!! I was always welcomed like one of her own in the house and nothing compared to her calm voice and her laugh…the most contagious one ever. ❤️❤️ - Posted by: Sandy (Friend) on: Jan 15, 2022

  • She was the sweetest, gentle beautiful person there ever was. Will always have sweet memories of her infectious giggles and glorious smile. a wonderful angel indeed. All our love to the family from both Pam and I. - Posted by: John Willox (Brother-in-law) on: Jan 15, 2022

  • We will always remember Joan as a wonderful sweet friend for over 50 years. We enjoyed her sense of humor & her impish smile. Lots of good memories even though separated by distance over the years our friendship lasted, just picked up the phone & it was like we saw each other yesterday. Sincere condolences.
