DONALD RAY ASSELSTINE
We are sorry to announce the passing of Don on January 11, 2022 at the age of 86 years old.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years, Alice, daughter Bonnie (Don), son Ray (Lisa); two grandchildren, Alisha-Rae (Dave), Duran; one great-granddaughter Kira, a sister Joan, brother Roy (Bobbi) and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Irene and brother- in-law Ted.
Don worked at CNR, did some construction, and Motor Coach Industries. He finished a lengthy career with the Winnipeg School Division. Don enjoyed many sports; hockey, football and curling. He was always happy when the Montreal Canadians won. He enjoyed gardening and was happy sharing his veggies with friends and family. He loved spending time with his wife going to the Casino and trips to Hawaii.
The family would like to thank the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their support and care of Don.
Cremation has taken place and per his wishes there will be no funeral.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Don and wish to express my deepest sympathies to Aunt Alice, Uncle Roy and families. I will always remember Uncle Don with his big smile and always having a joke or a funny story to tell when he would visit us in Ontario.
