It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Flore Grenier (née Blanchette) on January 11, 2022, at the age of 93 at the Riverview Health Centre.
Flore was a quiet, gentle soul and a woman of great faith and strength. She attended mass regularly praying for all those in need of love and support. She was an avid reader, looked forward to watching her favourite programs on television and loved playing cards and bingo. She was an active member of Club Eclipse '79 and held a seat on the committee for 22 years. She worked for five years at St. Boniface Hospital, seven years in Thompson, Manitoba and 18 years at Eaton's Downtown in Winnipeg.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Alfred, parents, Florian and Anna, sisters, Eveline, Dora and Amande, brothers, Léo and Gérald, as well as many in-laws, nephews and nieces.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Marcel and Arthur, forever cherished by her six grandchildren: Murray (Stacey), Jason (Monita), Jeremy (Rayna), Jamie (Amanda), Joanne (Darcy) and Alfred; four great-grandchildren: Jesse, Curtis, Eric and Cody. Being the only granddaughter in the family, Joanne had a very special relationship with her "mémère" and treasured every moment spent with her.
Also left to mourn her passing are her siblings and in-laws: Alda, Odette, Father Isaie omi, Marcel (Claudia), Mireille, Roger (Edith) and Alice (Albert), as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private funeral will be held by invitation only.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit (3 East) for their compassion and exceptional care and to all who gave their support, prayers and encouragement to Flore and her family during these difficult times.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Flore's memory to CancerCare or to a charity of your choice.
