ILDA BOTELHO
(DA COSTA ALECRIM)

June 3, 1932 - January 9, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ilda Botelho on January 9, 2022, at the age of 89.
Ilda was predeceased by her parents, Jose and Rosalina Da Costa Alecrim; her husband, John (Joao) Botelho and her infant daughter, Edwarda.
Ilda is survived by her two daughters, Julieta (Franco) Petrelli, Betty (Roger) Borges; grandchildren, Berardino (Kathleen) Petrelli, Franca (Paul) Bueti, Samantha Borges (Austin), and Bradley Borges. Ilda is also survived by her brother John (Joao) Alecrim of Florida, USA, and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Ilda was born in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Azores on June 3, 1932. In 1965, she immigrated to Canada to join her husband here in Winnipeg to start a new life. She was a loving grandmother, mother, wife, aunt and sister. Ilda was a stay-at-home mom for many years and enjoyed spending that time with her children and grandchildren.
She was known for her strong faith and unconditional love, her kind heart and caring spirit. These were just a few of her admirable qualities.
We want to express sincere thanks to the Palliative Home Care Team, especially Kija and Jade, who took care of her for the last year. A thank you to the St. Boniface Hospital's emergency department and 6AS Ward Staff for the care she received in her final days.
