Rex Fish, 88, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022.
Rex was born in Wombwell, Yorkshire, UK. He joined the R.A.F. at the age of 20, which would be formative in his love for all things aviation. After his service he became an apprentice butcher, a trade that he would work for over 50 years.
He immigrated to Canada in 1969 with his wife, Beryl, and two young sons Martin and Roger. He will be remembered as a proper gentleman, always in a shirt and tie, and often wearing his signature bowler hat. He was a loving husband to his one true love Beryl and was a wonderful father to sons. Martin and Roger. Rex was predeceased by his wife Beryl (Richardson), and is survived by sons, Martin (Patrick), and Roger (Andrew).
Rex touched so many lives and will be missed by his many dear friends, all of whom were like adopted family to him. Thank you to everyone who took great care of our dad in big and small ways, he appreciated every kind gesture and your friendships. Thank you to the wonderful staff of the Victoria Hospital, we are grateful for your gentle, loving care.

I had the privilege to work with Rex for about 3 years @ Bob's Tomboy on Academy Road in the early 80's.. Yes he was just that a " gentleman ". God Bless to those who you have left behind Rex. - Posted by: Charles[Chuck]Dubchak (Fellow employee) on: Jan 20, 2022
We moved to 964 Renfrew Bay in June of 1998. Rex and David were two people that we met initially. Beryl walked her dog and Lois walked our dog in the back lane. I was also in the meat business and had lots in common with Rex as he was two years older than I was. You cold not find better neighbors who became close friends. The three of us would maintain the weeds, garbage that was finding their way into the rail road side of the fence. Rex liked to go out once in a while for supper. One of his favourite places was the Captains Table for fish and chips. David and I will wait till the snow is gone then we will go and have a meal in Rex's Memory. Save a place up stairs for me Rex as I am now pushing 87 and ready to move on. - Posted by: Lois and Peter Gall (Neighbors) on: Jan 18, 2022
