RYAN TYLER MARTENS
May 4, 1982 January 3, 2022
It is with great sorrow that we announce Ryan's passing. Ryan was born and raised in Winnipeg attending Pacific Junction School, Linden Christian School and Oak Park High School. After graduation he went on to Red River College where he studied to be a Steamfitter Pipefitter. In 2007 he moved to Alberta to pursue his career which provided him many experiences and accomplishments.
Ryan had a love for hockey and played goalie for Varsity View Falcons and the APHA Rangers. He grew up spending time at the family cabin with family and friends making memories out on the water, playing cards and sitting around the campfire. After moving to Alberta spending time outdoors remained a big part of Ryan's life whether it be camping and quading or snowboarding and snowmobiling.
Ryan had a heart of gold and all who knew him could feel the love and warmth of a true friend. Ryan's deepest love was for his daughter Paisley. He cherished every minute they were together, always striving to be a great Dad. Ryan had a love for life and he will be deeply missed but will live forever in our hearts.
He leaves behind his precious daughter Paisley Martens, mother Fran Martens, sister Kara (Wes) McCallum, nephews, Ashton and Tyler McCallum along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ryan was predeceased by his father Ron Martens.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Paisley's Education Fund in Honour of Ryan:

The first thing that I think of when I remember Ryan is his signature Ryan smile - it was a mixture of genuine warmth and love with a little bit of a smirk in there too. He was someone who wouldn’t hesitate drop everything to help anyone who needed it and loved his family and friends fiercely. He will be deeply missed by many. My sincere condolences to Kara, Fran and little Paisley as well as to everyone else missing Ryan. - Posted by: JenKennedy (Friend) on: Jan 24, 2022

Very sorry to hear about both Ron and Ryan. Lorelei and I send our condolences. Ryan and I always had a lot of fun working together, we laughed a lot and gave Ron a few more grey hairs. The time spent out at the cabin was always fun. - Posted by: Mark (Friend ) on: Jan 24, 2022

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your son Fran to you and your family. I remember how proud you where of him when we would have lunch in the break room. I know I didn't know him personally.
