BOB TURNER
November 22, 1952 – January 10, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of (Bob) Robert Gordon Turner of Winnipeg, Manitoba announce his sudden passing on January 10, 2022 at the age of 69 years.
Born on November 22, 1952, Bob was raised, educated and lived his life in Winnipeg. He attended the University of Manitoba and further graduated with a degree in Audiology in 1977 from the University of Wyoming in the US. Bob was the first audiologist to start a private practice of audiology in the Province of Manitoba. He was a highly respected businessman, ingenious problem solver, and valued member of his community.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jan Naismith of 24 years; mother-in-law Wilma, brother-in-law Jeff (Aileen), brother-in-law Kevin (Marilyn), sister-in-law Mavis; stepchildren Ryan (Dana), Brad and Kim (Maynard); step-grandchildren – Brayden, Jordan, Hailee, Avery, Eden, Oakley, and Lila; his brother Larry Turner (Georgina); nephews and nieces, Jay, Amanda, Jamie and Brian. He was predeceased by his loving father John (1984) and mother Jean (2018); father-in- law, George (2014) and brother-in-law Randy (2014).
Bob will always be remembered for the joy he brought to life; his joy of laughter, the joy of friends and family, the joy of work, his joy of cooking for others, the joy in all his 'special' projects, and the joy of love. Bob was always excited about having his next project on the drawing board. Whether 'at the lake', at home or at work, it was always inspiring to see what he would make happen with purpose and full-heartedness. He will be missed and remembered forever by all of his family and his many friends. May He Rest in Peace.
Due to Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Bob's name may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. (heartandstroke.ca)

  • Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to be learning of Bob's passing. Working with Bob, Jan and Kim at Redwood Hearing was one of my first jobs early in my career and I learned so much from them all. Bob was kind, caring and so funny. I learned so much about patient care and advocacy from him, lessons I've carried throughout my life since. My sincere condolences to Jan and the rest of the family. - Lee Lee - Posted by: Leanne Scanlan (Former employee) on: Mar 28, 2022

  • Our very dear friend, with his sensational, boisterous laugh will be missed forever. We met Bob 41 years ago, way back in 1981. Each time we met, we would hug & I would say to him, Hello my brother from another Mother... & we would burst into laughter!! How I miss our precious times together, our many dinners & the many times we would sail to their beautiful cottage at Lake of The Woods. Bob & his beautiful wife Jan, along with Les & Terry, we always had a boisterous enjoyable meal & precious time spent together... there might have been a bit of wine involved tooooo!!! Rest in Peace our Very Dear Friend. - Posted by: Al & Diane Rushworth (Friend) on: Feb 08, 2022

  • I was so surprised and saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. He was the best employer I have ever had. He was funny and just a great guy all around. He was so thoughtful with all of us who worked for him. He will be missed by all who knew him. My sincerest condolences to Jan and their family. - Posted by: Jennifer Beall (Past employee) on: Jan 30, 2022

  • I am so very shocked and saddened to hear of Bob’s passing! I met Bob and Karen (his first wife, and life-long friend and business associate) almost 50 years ago, when I was married to Bob’s friend, Larry Goodmanson. Together, we enjoyed many fun times - especially at West Hawk and Star lakes… In my divorce, Larry got Bob and I got Karen - but, through Bob and Karen’s ongoing friendship (despite their divorce), I continued to hear of his life and adventures. My sincere condolences go to Karen, Jan and Jan’s children, Bob’s brother Larry, and numerous friends who share in their grief. - Posted by: Dawn Tecter (Friend) on: Jan 27, 2022

  • Dear Jan and Family I knew Bobbie when we lived on Neil Avenue and attended Polson Elementary School. We lost touch after a time and it was not until our neighbor Ed reintroduced us when Bobbie visited. I cannot imagine the sadness you feel at this time and I hope you will always remember the good times you had with Bobbie. He will truly be missed.
