It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claire, age 85, born in St-Boniface (MB).
She is survived by her six children, Jean-Pierre (Mireille Legal), Charles (Shirley Kornelson), Monique (late George Murphy), Guy (Johanne Cloutier), Robert, Paul (Sandra Pachol); her 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law Solange (Noël) Arcand and Raymonde (Hébert) Bernier and many nieces and nephews.

Claire was known for her contagious laugh, her great attitude, and she was always very welcoming and ready to help anyone in need. She was an awesome spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there to offer support and words of encouragement. Her tireless love and devotion to her family was unconditional and will be carried on by her children.
Her love of francophone culture has played an important part in her life. She was a co-founder of the Francophone Cultural Association of Manitoba (ACFM) and the Sainte-Anne Cultural Center. These are but a few of her many accomplishments.
She was very active and loved by all at the Villa Aulneau where she resided till her passing.
A special thanks to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and at Riverview Health Centre for their care of Claire and also to LeClaire Brothers funeral home for their help and support in this difficult time.
The family encourages you to make a donation in her memory to the General Fund at Francofonds Inc. at 204-237-5852 or www.francofonds.org.
A celebration of Claire's life will be held surrounded by her loving family.

I remember your Mom as a happy person always ready with a smile I know she will be greatly missed, but I am sure your Mom and Dad are watching over you from heaven My deepest sympathy Anita (Baxter) Chapman - Posted by: Anita (Baxter) Chapman (friend) on: Feb 01, 2022

  • So sorry to hear of Claire’s passing. Claire and Maurice were friends with my parents. She had a generous, energetic spirit and I can easily hear her laughter when I think of her. May you find comfort in memories of the rich and full life she lived. - Posted by: Jennifer Gyles (Family Friend to Claire and Maurice) on: Jan 29, 2022
