JACK ROSENBAUM
April 29, 1925 January 2, 2022
It is with heartfelt and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful dad, zaida, and great zaida on January 2 at the age of 96.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Evie, of 63 years; his parents, Moishe and Esther; his siblings, Harry, David and Genya; his brothers-in-law, Norman M., Max, Norman L., Jack and Harry; sisters-in-law, Goldie, Clara, and Molly; and sweet baby great-grandson, Asher. Sadly, his sister-in-law, Margot, passed away on January 19.
He will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his daughter, Rennie Kaplan (Allan) and son, Marty Rosenbaum (Melissa); grandchildren, Karlee (Manny), Nathanial (Jean), Adam, Leora (Bram), Micah (Nora) and Aaron (Kaitlyn); great-grandchildren, Ari, Shoshana, Jonathon, Eliana, and Emmet; sisters-in-law, Annette and Yetta; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Our dad was born in Pultusk, Poland, the youngest of four children. After surviving the horrors of the Holocaust, he was fortunate to come to Canada where he met and married our mom, Evie. They enjoyed 63 precious years together, travelling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Israel and took many cruises. They were inseparable partners in business and in life. Our dad loved to cook, garden, sing, dance (putting us all to shame), travel, and he loved a good joke. He faced so much adversity in his life but, with his strength of character and zest for life, he was always able to overcome and live his life to its fullest. Most of all, he loved his family and taught us many important life lessons.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the hardworking doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital and the staff at River Ridge, especially the aides of E.A.L. who cared for our dad with love and compassion. Also, thanks so much to our family and friends who provided love, support and comfort during this difficult time.
Funeral services were held at the Hebrew Sick Cemetery on January 6 with Cantor Tracy Kasner officiating. We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to our pallbearers.
Our dad was a gentle, humble and noble man throughout his life. He was a true mensch!! We will always miss you and love you dad, and you will live on forever in our hearts.

Today is April 21, 2022. I just learned of your father's passing. He was a mensch, very sociable and easy to talk to. Didn't realize he was not well. Sorry for your loss. Sonia Kaplan - Posted by: Sonia Kaplan (Not sure - Married to Harold Kaplan) on: Apr 21, 2022
