TERRANCE WILLIAM BEDNAS
1959 - 2021
It is with great sadness that Terry passed away suddenly in Costa Rica on December 30, 2021.
Terry was born in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan on March 3, 1959, moving to Dauphin as a teenager, and on to Winnipeg to attend college. It was in Winnipeg that Terry met his wife of 40 years, Colette, and where they made their first home together. Subsequently, Terry and Colette moved to St. Albert, Alberta in 1998 and then to Blind Bay, BC in 2011.
Terry is survived by Colette and their three children, Erika (Tyson), Deanna (Brendan) and Darcy (Aislinn) and three grandchildren, Watson, Daisy and Eva. He will also be missed by his three sisters, Patricia (Ernest), Valerie (Daryl) and Lori (John) and also Colette's parents, Georges and Fabiola, sisters, Denise, Suzanne, Monique (Todd) and their families. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, many of whom enjoyed his generous and helpful nature.
Terry was a popular, social member of all the communities he lived in and will be missed by many friends and acquaintances.
As per Terry's wishes, no service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salmon Arm SPCA.

Colette we are so sorry to hear of Terrys passing. Just by coincidence that we heard of this. Terry was a great guy and always enjoyed working with him, he will be truly missed. It was just recently while we were in AZ for the winter that I was thinking of you and Terry and was wondering if you were still in Costa Rica! Please accept our sincere condolences. We shared many a time on the football field together. He was a fierce competitor, but more important he never negative, always positive. Just a good guy. - Posted by: John Ochitwa (high school friend) on: Apr 17, 2022

I was shocked and upset to learn of Terry's passing through other family members. While a few years younger than me, Terry and his sisters were always fun to be with and meant "family" to us. One memorable visit was with the family when they were still living in Hudson's Bay, Manitoba one HOT summer. Terry even ended up in the same area of work as the man who I eventually married (a biomedical technologist) and they were in touch before I even found out that they knew each other! A small world and all that. The last time I saw Terry was in Comox around 2017, when he was visiting family and friends in the area, including my parents. It was great to see him again; he was so enthusiastic about the changes he was making in his life, including a new BC location to live and (especially) the wonders of his "other home" in Costa Rica. He really "sold it" to me and finished our visit by expressing the hope that he would look forward to having me as a neighbor in BC or in Costa Rica -- or maybe even both! Condolences to his sisters Pat, Val, and Lori from me and my husband, Graham Bruce. - Posted by: Marianne Bednas Bruce (cousin) on: Feb 11, 2022

I was both surprised and saddened to hear of Terry's passing. I worked with Terry for over 10 years and even though we moved to opposite ends of the country we still enjoyed catching up on each other life with the occasional phone call. You will be missed buddy. - Posted by: Robert Trenchard (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2022

Dear Colette and the entire Bednas family, I was saddened to hear of Terry's passing, taken far too young. I have lots of fond memories of the good times we had during high school in Dauphin and then moving onto Winnipeg. It's been many years since I last saw Terry but that smile says it all. My heart goes out you all. RIP Terry. - Posted by: Sandra (Sandy) Iftody (Friend) on: Jan 30, 2022
