DAVID SHAYNA
April 12, 1969 - January 19, 2022
David passed away suddenly at home during the night - after an illness of a few days duration.
He is survived by his loving wife Julia; two daughters, Michaela and Kylie; his mother Judith, his brother Mark, (Heather) and two nephews, Scott and Justin; sister-in law Jacquie and nephews, Ryan and Ian. He was predeceased by his father Edward Shayna in 2015.
David attended William Osler and Grant Park High School. He was a good student and was active in soccer and hockey during his preteen and teenage years. In 1987 he entered the Asper School of Business and graduated with a BCommHons in 1991.
He accepted a position with Allied Van Lines in their new management training program. Over the years he was a managing partner with AMJ Campbell and Premiere Van lines and at the time of his passing he was the Vice President of Globe Moving and Storage/Premiere Van Lines. He worked long, long hours because he liked to be thorough and have his "i's" dotted and his "t's" crossed. The remainder of his time was spent with his family.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

It is with sadness that I heard of David’s recent passing. I’ve known David for approximately 45 years dating back to our hockey days in good old River Heights. David was a smart, kind and caring person. He was a terrific hockey player, both when we played for the Cardinals then with the Rangers where he captained our 13 year old team. I lost track of David for many years but we reconnected a handful of years ago while he was at Globe Moving. Our discussions usually involved reminiscing about our old hockey days and wondering where our teammates landed in life. You will be missed #15. My sincere condolences to David’s wife and kids, his mother and brother Mark and family. Rest easy my friend! - Posted by: David Obirek (Friend/Teammate ) on: Feb 07, 2022

My condolences on the passing of David. I was surprised and shocked when I heard the news. I first met David in 2000 when I applied for a sales position with AMJ Campbell when they were on 1240 Sherwin Rd. I always admired David's sense of business. He was a hard working person and put a lot of time and effort in his business but he always had time if you needed to talk to him about a problem with business. He was a very good person and I felt fortunate to have known him. I am going to miss him alot. - Posted by: John Hyde (Former employee) on: Jan 31, 2022
