RONALD ARTHUR MARION
January 30, 1945 - January 23, 2022
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Ronald Marion on January 23, 2022, at the age of 76.
Ron is welcomed in Heaven by his beloved wife of over 25 years, Lucille (Préfontaine) Marion; his parents, Adonai and Armande (Catellier) Marion; his sisters, Jeannine Ostrom and Laura Penner; his brothers-in-law, Eric Clark, Tony Morin, and Dennis Penner; and his nephew André Morin.
He will be forever missed by his companion of 20 years, Irene Mendoza, and her family, including Doris and her two sons, Jaymar and Janiele. Also left to cherish his memories are his daughter Joelle (Joel) Adair and his two grandchildren, Lianne and Evan.
Ron is also survived by his brother Ernest (Paule); his sisters, Doris Morin (Albert Combot), Edith Clark, Paulette Vermette (Roger), and Marielle Hoffman (Gerald); brother-in-law Dale Ostrom; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins as well as countless friends.
Ron was described as a social person who loved connecting with those around him. Growing up on a farm near Arnaud, Manitoba, he was proud of his French Canadian roots and enjoyed reminiscing about his childhood. Ron also valued going out for meals with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Agriculture, the prairies, and horses held an important place in his heart, and he worked for Farm Credit Corporation for most of his adult life before retiring in 2001.
The family would like to thank his cousin Denis Marion, who graciously donated one of his kidneys to Ron over 20 years ago. Because of Denis, we were all able to enjoy having Ron in our lives for many years, as this incredibly generous act gave Ron a new lease on life. Ron was eternally grateful to Denis, his hero. If friends and family wish, they can donate to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in Ron's memory.
A memorial service with family and friends will be held on June 18, 2022.
J'aurais aimé tenir ta main un peu plus longtemps, cher papa. Repose en paix.

Just wanted to leave a note for Joelle and the family, know that my thoughts are with you. I have nothing but fond memories of mon mononcle Ronald, my godfather. As a kid, I used to love going to the farm and hanging out with mon mononcle Ronald and ma matante Lucille, and then in Winnipeg when Joelle came along. It was always great to see him at our Marion Christmas gatherings. And I was so glad when he came to Ottawa for my wedding in 1990. Mononcle Ronald, you will always have a special place in my heart. - Posted by: Suzanne Morin (Niece and goddaughter ) on: Feb 01, 2022
