PASQUALE PUCCIO
May 11, 1938 – January 25, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather, brother and husband, Pasquale Puccio, at the Grace Hospice on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Maria; daughters, Erminia (Corey) and Rina (Robert); grandchildren, Hannah, Lukas, Dominick and Alexa; and his sister Emilia (Renato). Pasquale was predeceased by his parents, Erminia and Isidoro and his siblings, Maria, Felicia, Giuseppe and Alfonso.
Pasquale was born in Miglierina, Calabria, Italy, on May 11, 1938. He immigrated to Canada when he was 19 years old, spending time in both Montreal and Winnipeg before settling here. Pasquale worked for the Hudson Bay Company for 42 years, where he was well-known for displaying his talent and skill as a clothier and for providing the highest quality of customer service.
Nothing filled Pasquale with the bigger sense of pride than when his grandchildren came along and he became "nonno." Having his family together for dinners and trips was the happiest time for him and filled his heart with beautiful memories. He loved to travel with family and friends, exploring Canada and the US and working on his suntan in Cuba, Mexico and Hawaii.
There will be an outdoor blessing for Pasquale at the Chapel Mausoleum at the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022.
We would like to thank everyone who has reached out to send their condolences. We would also like to convey a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing health care professionals who supported both mom and dad over the past several months, in the community, in Riverview Hospital and in the Grace Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba.

To Maria, Erminia and Rina, and all the many family members, please accept my sincere condolences. When I began my working career in the 60s, I landed in a job that required a business suit and tie every day. It was then that I met Pat, and he came to my rescue, regularly finding affordable made-to-measure solutions for my athletic body. He kept that up until I left Winnipeg in 1980. Better yet, we had become friends along the way. When my life took me to a new house in St. James in the 70s, Pat and his family lived 2 doors away, and at a difficult time in my life, Pat was there for my family. I am so glad that I managed to have a coffee with Pat at his local Tim Horton’s during my last visit to Winnipeg before the pandemic.
