THOMAS ANDERSON WILKIE
March 10, 1933 - January 23, 2022

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our kind, gentle father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Thomas Wilkie.
Left to cherish Tom's memory are his son John (Deanne); daughters, Linda (Ron), Dianne (Shaun) and Carol (Don); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as his extended family in Scotland.
Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Mary on March 29, 2020 and we find comfort knowing Mary is waiting to be reunited with the love of her life, dressed to the nines with her high heels and lipstick on to greet him.
All the grandchildren and great-grandchildren have amazing memories at Victoria Beach with Nana and Pop. Spending summer holidays at Victoria Beach, swimming and riding bikes to the bakery for special treats.
Our Mom and Dad were amazing parents and raised a loving family. "The Wilkie Clan" will go on.
Tom was born March 10, 1933 in Perth, Scotland. Tom and Mary and their children immigrated to Canada July 1966 to embark on a new life. The family has grown to over 50. WOW!
Tom worked for Davian Construction and Winnipeg Building until he retired. Mom and Dad had a great retirement at their home in Victoria Beach. He had a love of Bonnie Scotland, nature, birds, loved to ride his bike, swim in the lake, the Winnipeg Jets, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, soccer, music and dancing with Mary. OH and his other love, reading The Winnipeg Free Press.
We are so grateful for the wonderful memory of a life well lived.
We are so grateful and appreciate the care and compassion of the staff at Donwood Manor and a special acknowledgement to Ruth, Cassandra and Alex.
In accordance with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Hope Mom and Dad are having a Ceilidh with the rest of the family and friends!

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Mr. Wilkie was a huge part of my childhood along with mum, Mrs. Wilkie. They knew I had a rough home life and would invite me to have sleep overs with Carol when they knew my dad was drunk at the legion and would be coming home to take his anger out on me...they both have had a special place in my heart after 50 years of friendship with Carol....they were so kind, understanding, and extremely funny...they are together once again, watching over the Wilkie clan...my condolences go out to Carol, Diane, Linda and John and your spouses and all the grand children and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all his family in Scotland...Heaven has another angel with a Scottish accent.😇 - Posted by: Lisa Kusmack (Friend, neighbor) on: Jan 30, 2022

  • Remembering the good ole Harrow days, with your dad as my soccer coach, and cheering John on at the rink. Good community guy and great coach. The Hicks family offer our condolences. - Posted by: Kelly Hicks (friend) on: Jan 29, 2022
