WILLIAM ROBERT MCKIBBIN
August 3, 1939 - January 5, 2022
Bill lived in Winnipeg most of his life, spending his last years in Ladysmith, BC. Bill passed in the Nanaimo hospital with wife Shanon by his side.
Bill is also survived by brother David (Kathy), nieces, Kim and Debbie, nephews, Shaun and Bruce. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Dorothy, brother John and former wife Irene (Billy).
Bill worked briefly for Canada Post and then found his calling with SC Johnson (Johnsons Wax) for approximately 25 years. Taking his knowledge and experience to his best customer, he enjoyed many years at Marrin Brothers as a salesperson, retiring as Sales Manager.
Bill was a certified sports nut, both as fan and participant. Pony league baseball, church league basketball, and curling at the Granite Club, competed briefly with GOLF. For more than 40 years he was a member of The Wildewood Club and Southwood Golf Club. In high school he regularly played 9 holes during his one and a half hour lunch break!
As a fan, he enjoyed many years with season tickets for the original Jets, and a lifetime of TV sports of most stripes.
Bedridden face down with an eye issue, a TV had to be set on the floor facing up, as missing a week of sports was intolerable! As a people person, Bill made many friends everywhere he went.
