Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I had the good fortune of being Earl's patient for nearly 40 years. It was a pleasure being in his presence. He always had a wee smile. Although most visits were brief, he respectfully addressed any concerns I had, and at times confided about some aspects of his life. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed away and would like to offer my condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Ivan Bilash (patient ) on: Feb 20, 2022

  • Goodbye to a long-standing friend and doctor. His help by telephone to London was greatly appreciated, even if the time change was not considered. He even made an unexpected house call, most unusual but showed his caring nature. My condolences to Betty Anne and all the family. - Posted by: Marilyn Marshall (Friend) on: Feb 14, 2022

  • I was sorry to here of Earl's passing. He has made a very noticeable contribution to medical care in Manitoba as director of TB treatment and as a consultant in Respiratory Disease at the D. A. Stewart Centre. I valued him as a colleague and friend and extend my sympathies to his family and assure them he will be fondly remembered for his contribution to the health of Manitobans. - Posted by: Vincent Aloysius Taraska (Colleague) on: Feb 09, 2022

  • Very sad to hear of Earl's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for over a decade at Eaton Place Medical. I will always remember his irreverent sense of humour and his genuine interest in medicine. It was a pleasure to have him as a teacher in medical school and rewarding to work with him later as a colleague and friend. He will be missed, but I will always remember his stories and unique advice. - Posted by: Anthony Hlynka (colleague) on: Feb 08, 2022

  • I first met Earl when I was a GP in the arctic and was dealing with tuberculosis patients. Earl taught me a great deal, and after I came south for specialty studies he introduced me to research and the wider world of colleagues and organizations that shared a common goal of trying to eliminate TB. I am grateful that I was able to work with him as a student and colleague. I send condolences to Betty Anne and family. - Posted by: Dr. Pamela Orr (student and colleague) on: Feb 02, 2022
