WAYNE WALLACE HRYSIO
It is with heart-breaking sadness, the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Wayne Hrysio on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the age of 72 years old on vacation surrounded by family.
Wayne is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Linda and children, Mellissa (Neil) and Westley, grandchildren, Christopher (Faith) and Matthew, along with many cherished family members, friends and doggo.
Wayne was born January 13, 1950 in Bright Stone, Manitoba and was raised by his parents, Steve and Wanda Hrysio. Wayne was a son in the family along with six other siblings; Ronnie, Lenard, Rolland, Cordell, John and Marlene.
Much of Wayne's childhood and early adulthood was spent on the family farm. Through this Wayne pursued and obtained a degree at the University of Manitoba.
Wayne furthered his passion for agriculture when he began work for Agriculture Canada where he contributed (33) years of service. Wayne also started his own successful business; a tree nursery alongside with his son.
The one thing that superseded Wayne's love of the outdoors, was his wife Linda. Wayne and Linda's 52 years of marriage were cherished deeply by Wayne as they navigated through life and its adventures together. Wayne was semi-retired and enjoyed the fruits of his labour by spending the winters in the warm Arizona sun with Linda, family and friends.
For those who knew Wayne, he was known for his strong work ethic, large personality, and most importantly his passion for happy hour. Wayne enjoyed conversation, laughter and gatherings with anyone, accompanied with cold drink in hand.
We will never be able to fill the large void Wayne left and we will miss his generosity, boisterous laugh and love of life. You took good care of us and now its your time to rest. We will continue to love you always.
Remember him with a smile today
He was not one for tears
Reflect instead on memories
Of all the happy years
Recall to mind the way he spoke
And all the things he said
His strength, his stance, the way he walked
Remember these instead
The good advice he'd give us
His eyes that shone with laughter
So much of him will never die
But live on ever after
As we loved you, so we miss you
In our memory you are near
Loved, remembered, longed for always
Bringing many a silent tear
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a further date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our family was truly saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. I always thought of Wayne and Linda as the super couple, always smiling, loving life and most evident was their love for one another. Wayne's strong, contagious laughter certainly was one of his greatest attributes that would naturally make anyone smile when you were with him. My father, Gilbert adored Wayne and his family, the two of them laughing over a good story was always a great sight. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Marcy Hrysio (cousin) on: Feb 06, 2022

I met Mellissa while attending Bird’s Hill School and she became my very first friend. I remember visits to her house on Rebeck Road and fondly remember her parents, her dad being strikingly handsome. This past summer we had Wes come to move spruce trees, his visit reminded me of happy times in my youth. I am saddened to learn of Wayne’s passing, my heart and thoughts are with the family. - Posted by: Cori Lapka (Childhood friend of Mellissa) on: Feb 05, 2022

We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected passing of our next door neighbor Wayne. Our sincerest condolences to Linda, Wes and family. Wayne will always be remembered for his jovial outlook on life. We will miss hearing his raucous laughter eminateting from the backyard, particularly at the daily happy hour. The tree business continued to provided him with the opportunity to meet new people and fulfill his interest in learning new things. Even in semi-retirement his was continually active in repairing equipment and maintaining the yard. His absence will be missed at our annual neighborhood bonfire. Our thoughts and prayers are with Linda and Wes during this difficult time, but we know the great memories of Wayne will help them through. - Posted by: Clare and Shirley Moster (Immediate neighbor ) on: Feb 05, 2022

So sorry for your loss, Linda and family. I was a client of Wayne’s in his day of working with seed growers as a crop inspector of the highest pedigreed crops for seed production. We had some really good “tailgate” visits about many topics but chiefly about the seed business. He gave me some good advice, being concerned with a person’s desire to better their life. His integrity in his work shone through as he would see an imperfection in a crop with his “Hawkeye”, note it and then in his gentlemanly fashion provide an opportunity for correction. Although I had not seen Wayne in perhaps 20 years, I have not forgotten him and occasionally thought of him with affection. Today I mourn with you in the loss of a man who, although he had to leave this world, indeed left it in a better state as a result of his contributions. I salute you and your family for the love, the care and the support you have given him in his life’s journey. I wish you Godspeed and comfort as you deal with such a monumental loss.
