Bert was a very loving husband, father and grampa. We spent 31 happy years together. We did everything together whether it be building, gardening or travelling. There was never a dull moment as he had a pocket full of jokes at every turn and roars of laughter from his friends. He had a great love for children, a great conversation with the older ones and played silly games with the younger ones to their delight. He was meticulous in everything he did, it had to be done right! His Air Force training came out in so many ways. He enjoyed his chosen career of 32 years in the R.C.A.F. He would relate interesting details in many of his AIR Crew Maintenance jobs, also of holiday travel with his young family in Europe. He was very dedicated to his career and was stationed in different parts of Europe, England, Germany and Canada as well. In the years that followed he moved up in the ranks, teaching young airmen the tricks of the trade and retired as Major.
Bert you were a great guy, a friend to anyone who knew you, loved by family and especially your wife and will be deeply missed by all.

His worldly background and sense of humour provided fertile ground for the jokes and playful banter we enjoyed during our shared conversations. A true gentleman and pleasure to have known.
