LEONA KLASSEN
(nee DERKSEN)
June 12, 1938 - January 30, 2022

Leona Klassen passed away on January 30, 2022, at the age of 83.
Leona is survived by her daughter Karen Sawatzky (Al), daughter Jeanette Bergstresser (Dean); son Robert Klassen (Colleen); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Leona was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Jake Klassen (2019). As well as, her Mom and Dad, Henry (2001) and Sarah (2003) Derksen; sister Caroline Buhr (2020); and brother Eddy Derksen (2021).
Mom loved her children and grandchildren dearly. After Mom and Dad moved to Morris, Mom began her post farm career. She put her great cooking skills to use and became the Kitchen Supervisor at Morris Hospital and Lodge. Mom always enjoyed gardening; anytime anyone asked where they lived, you just had to say "across from the hospital with all the flowers", and everyone knew where you were talking about. Mom and Dad won many awards with their green thumbs. Mom and Dad also spent several years antiquing, travelling all over the countryside to find their treasures.
The family would like to thank the staff at Red River Valley Lodge for the great care they provided in difficult times over the past three years.
A private family service and burial will take place on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
