BLAINE GUENTHER
December 6, 1959 - January 29, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine Guenther, on January 29, 2022. Blaine passed peacefully, with his wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda; sons, Jesse and Dylan; sister Brenda Baschuk; and nephews, who were second sons, Dale and Mark Baschuk.
Blaine lived large and had a full and adventurous life. He was well known for his very distinctive and hearty laugh and his huge propensity for telling it like it is, sometimes to the chagrin of those around him. He definitely marched to the beat of his own drum, and was passionate about everything he did. Blaine was key in teaching his sons and nephews so many valuable life skills and pleasures. He owned and operated Nopiming Lodge for 42 years with his family, and was well known and loved by the many customers for his generosity and amazing work ethic. He was always willing to jump in to lend a hand with everything. He loved and respected nature and the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, trapping, boating and snowmobiling were all dear to him. He cofounded the Snomads club with Arnie and Brenda. Blaine was famous for organizing and hosting the annual pig roast for the Snomads that was enjoyed by many.
He will be forever missed by his wife Brenda, his sons Jesse and Dylan, the rest of his family and large circle of friends.
Blaine, thank you for the wonderful joy and adventure you brought to our lives. You have touched our hearts in an everlasting way.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

So many fond memories with the Guenther’s, Blaine, Brenda (his Sister) and Marge (his Mom). After their loss of husband and dad they started anew. Outside of their home in the city and created a new home in Nopiming Park. During this time Blaine found his love, Brenda. Their two sons Jesse and Dylan are a reflection of their love. Your family’s continued support for the community is much appreciated. Take care. - Posted by: Marie (Friend) on: Feb 14, 2023

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Blaine's passing today. Please accept my most sincere condolences to all of his family. I had the pleasure of knowing and having Blaine work for me at ABCO many years ago until he decided to make the lodge his full time career. Blaine was a very hard worker an excellent guy and an asset to have on my crew. We had many laughs with stories he would share on hunting, fishing and snowmobiling, along with general overall story telling. I was sorry to see him leave the industry. However it was always great to see him on the many snowmobiling trips to his lodge and catching up on old times. I know Blaine will be missed by us all, may he rest in peace - Posted by: John Nunes (Former co-worker) on: Feb 07, 2022

I knew Blaine from general vanier. Ran into him a few years ago that he was cooking for the wedding. Still the same friendly bubbly guy he always was. My condolences to the family. Brenda used to babysit us on Northumbria bay. So many years ago and many great memories ❤️ - Posted by: Heather (Friend ) on: Feb 07, 2022
