Her grandsons Craig (Charlene), Colin (Victoria), Tyler and Jordyn Mitchener and her granddaughters, Miranda (Stephen) Froese and Charmaine (Kyle Wolf) and great-grandkids, Brynn, Aiden, Avery, Ashton, Ajay, Archer and Weston. Also left to mourn Sally are her sisters, Jean Cummings, Karen Matthews, Fern (Larry) Pestaluky, Bonnie (Mike) Gertner and Sherry (Dominique) Makar, her brother John Dunning, her in-laws, Lionel (Vivian) Moorhouse, Wendy (Phil) Brauen, Iris Moorhouse and Jean Moorhouse and many nieces, nephews and friends. Long time friend Edna Mcleod kept in touch with Sally over the years and she really appreciated the phone calls and letters. Sally was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2020 who she missed so very much. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Beatrice Dunning, brothers, Richard and Herbert Dunning, in-laws, June Dunning, Richard Cummings, Neill Matthews, Lena Dunning, nephew Michael Gertner and niece and nephew Brenda and Marcel Dubois, niece Niki Brauen, parents-in-law, George and Anastasia Moorhouse and in-laws, George, Harry and Ken Moorhouse, Lillian and Phillip Power.
Sally was born in Winnipeg, MB and loved her city. She worked at a catalogue order desk before she married her lifetime love, Raymond. She moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1979 with her girls and Raymond who started a drilling business there. Her sons stayed in the Transcona home to finish school and college. She always mentioned wanting to move back to Winnipeg. We were lucky to have a stay at home mom. She sewed dance costume for her girls. She said she couldn't sew but she made beautiful costumes with the tedious little sequence, curtains and pillows. She could sketch people doodling on a napkin while out for coffee. Family meant everything to her, sharing meals with them, babysitting grandkids and pets and loved her grandkids and great-grandkids with all her heart. Occasionally in summer nieces, nephews and grandkids would go to Saskatoon and stay with Auntie/Gramma Sally and Uncle/Grampa Ray. They might go camping, fishing or have bonfires in the backyard. She so enjoyed visits and hearing from family and friends, going for coffee to people watch and listening to country music. You'd hear her say "Be Careful" when leaving, she was always concerned about her loved ones.
Sally's request was no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors who cared for our mom at St. Paul's Hospital and the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon showing compassion and dignity.
Condolences may be left at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME (306-244-5577).
