ALDA DICKIE

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Alda Dickie on January 21, 2022, in Prince George, British Columbia with her daughters by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Don, her parents, Leone and Lenard, and her only brother, Clayton. She is survived by her daughters, Tracey (Jim), Marla (Shane) and Jo-Anne (Robert), nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Alda was born in Manitoba in 1931, grew up in Gilbert Plains, and moved to British Columbia in the late 1950s. In 1960 she married Don and moved to Squamish where she resided in the family home until 2019. She loved her community and her home as well as her gardens! She was a member of the Howe Sound Curling Club, loved to curl and always enjoyed watching a curling game on TV! She was also an active member of the Anglican Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the congregation and the friendship of the Anglican Church Women. She began quilting with the A.C.W. in the 1970s and became a member of both the Squamish and Fraser Valley Quilters' Guilds. Quilting remained a constant source of pleasure, pride and purpose for Mom until she passed away! She will be dearly missed.
Alda's ashes will be interred at the Mount Garibaldi Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date when circumstance allows.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who assisted Mom, in so many ways, during the last years of her life. You helped her continue to live a rich and full life! Thank you!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Alda's name.
