LILLIAN MARGARET BOND
(nee WITT)

On February 7, 2022, peacefully in the comfort of her home with her son Clyde, daughter Sandra and son-in-law Tim by her side, our Mom (90 years of age - born February 15, 1931) left us to be with her beloved husband Sandy (Albert Malcom Bond who passed on March 10, 2014) after spending the last eight years longing to be with him again. Mom and Dad celebrated their 63rd anniversary in June 2013.
She leaves her children, Clyde (Scott) and Sandra (Tim), grandsons: Trevor (Candace), great-granddaughter Madison; Tyler (Taylor); Jordan (Ali and her daughter Lily), great-grandson Jacob; and only granddaughter Kelleigh.
Mom cherished being a mother and the household engineer. She always had everything in order and ready to go. Mom always put out the best "spreads" for any get together even as she contemplated her last days, and she was known for her Christmas baking that was shared with so many people; her Christmas cake being the crowning jewel.
Both Mom and Dad worked incredibly hard to provide for our family. She was an excellent seamstress in her younger days and a very good knitter, making some fantastic baby clothes and sweaters for the family, many of which we have kept as heirlooms to be passed on down.
In 1963 they purchased a mobile trailer and motorboat which they parked at Gull Lake. This lead to many enjoyable summers with family and friends. We especially remember the famous sing along bonfires to Dick Wuirch and his guitar. When Dad retired they sold the cottage and commenced their RV adventures where for many years they were snowbirds. Mom and Dad enjoyed a very full life which was all due to their dedication to hard work. They have definitely passed that characteristic to us.
At Mom's request cremation has taken place and there will be no service or gathering. A private family gathering will take place. Mom asked that you remember a good time had together then smile and bid her bon voyage.
Sandra and Clyde would like to especially extend our gratitude to her condo friends for all the assistance and the warmth they extended to Mom over the past eight years.
Mom requested that should anyone desire, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her name would be wonderful. Mom always loved her dogs especially Mickey #2 and PJ who actually stood still for her to vacuum their coats to reduce their shedding. That was our Mom!
Mom was assisted in leaving this earth with the help of Medical Assistance in Dying and the caring members of their team who fulfilled her last wishes. As much as it pains us to say goodbye, we know she is happy now. Our memories will last forever.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Sandra, I am so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. My deepest condolences to you and Clyde. I had the pleasure to meet your mom when our mothers crossed paths and became friends. They shared the losses of their loved ones while managing to have some enjoyment in their friendship. I’m sure our parents have already met in Heaven. May they all Rest In Peace. Sincerely, Shelley Grahame - Posted by: Shelley Grahame (High school friend) on: Oct 20, 2022

  • We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Lil's family and friends . In the past few years we got to know our neighbour Lil, share our stories and enjoy our visits with her. We appreciated her sense of humour, warmth, kindness and generosity. Lil always spoke her mind and was genuine, and we loved her for that. We will miss our dear friend. Visits to Club Regent will not be the same without her. You will always be in our hearts, Lil. With love, Gary and Tony - Posted by: Gary Petsnick and Tony Johnson (friends) on: Feb 10, 2022

  • I offer my condolences on your mother’s passing. It’s hard to lose a parent especially since you were close. I see we shared a place in common Gull Lake. We had a trailer, then built a cabin. Take care. - Posted by: Debbie Jones Bessette (Classmate of Clyde’s, I think just jr high.,) on: Feb 10, 2022
