SENNON (SAM) ROMAN RUEDIGER
Sennon (Sam) Roman Ruediger passed away peacefully on February 3, 2022, in Winnipeg.
Beloved husband of the late Gerda Ruth (nee von Krogh). He is survived by his daughter Elke Ruediger-Dooley, sons, Ralph (Vanessa), Robert (Monika), and daughter Esther Ruediger-Stumpf (Christian). Also left to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Dooley, Angela (Joe) Makumi, Tyler Gatehouse; Erich, Stefan, and Kerstin Ruediger; Heidi Stumpf (Danny), Carina (Shane) Vogel and Bianca Stumpf, as well as four great-grandchildren, Malaika and Noah Makumi, Milo and Griffin Dooley, and his sister Anna Kranz and family in Germany. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bernhard, Herbert, twins, Gerhard and Grete, Erwin, and son-in-law Murray Dooley.
He was born in Eichstaedt, Germany on December 7, 1933 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He worked in construction mainly with Dominion Construction as a concrete foreman.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as camping and the family cottage. He was a lifelong member of the German Society of Winnipeg, where he was actively involved in the chess club, as well as the St. Hubertus Game and Fish club where he was a founding member of the Libau property.
A "celebration of his life" ceremony will be held in his memory at a later date.
Flowers are gratefully declined; donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
