Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • Just learned of this tonight. So sad. I was one of many 'kids; in high school (Churchill) with AP, and then with him, Tom Williams, a few others, in the carpool from Riverview/Lord Roberts out to the campus in our first year university. We all seemed to head in different directions after graduating. Only saw him once after, at one of the summer reunions It was good to see him. He was fine guy, a gifted athlete, smart. Kind of private. All good, really. Sorry to hear Don is gone too. The two brothers seemed close. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Peter Feniak (friend) on: Mar 10, 2022

  • When I lived in Winnipeg in the 1970's, I asked Art if he would serve on the Board of a new corporation called An-Dy-Yang Treatment Homes Inc. and also review the monthly finances of this fledgling organization. It had been formed by a group of First Nations people who wanted to develop foster homes for First Nations' children, who were often placed in homes that did not understand or appreciate the history and culture of the youth. Although it was an unpaid position, Art volunteered his time and skill to help the new organization succeed. He was a good man, who shared his knowledge. I remember him with fondness. - Posted by: Marian Nadler (good friend of Art's sister Jane) on: Feb 22, 2022

  • Art Pearson was one of my Tax profs at the U of M. Though a busy professional, he was generous with his time. His teaching made Tax understandable and helped me to choose a Tax career. Best wishes to his loved ones. - Posted by: Dan Torbiak (Student) on: Feb 13, 2022

  • I worked at KPMG, over 30 yrs ago as receptionist. Art was one of my favorites there. Very approachable. We had many laughs... I think it was his 40th birthday and I walked into work at 8am with 4 shooters, 2 for me, 2 for Art. Great guy....very sorry to read this...deepest condolences to all. - Posted by: Allison.mackenzie (Friend) on: Feb 12, 2022
