JOHN IRVINE (JACK) CHRISTIAN
We are deeply saddened to advise of the unexpected passing of our beloved Jack, who now joins our dear parents, Donald and Shirley Christian, as well as his wife Marge Skrumeda, in what we believe to be a loving reunion.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Amanda; grandson Travis; brothers, Jeff (Donna) and Jim (Shelley), as well as nieces, Kim (Adam) Conlan; Amy (Mark) Nahnibida; and nephews, Dean (Linda), Blain (Susan) and Joel (Katharina). Jack was deeply loved by all without exception, and definitely out did both Jeff and Jim at being the coolest Uncle in the family.
Jack will be missed by many, and we hope that we will be joined by his friends in a celebration of his life that we will arrange at a later time in the summer of 2022.

I just learned of Jack's death and am shocked. I left Saskatoon when I was 18 and Jack and I eventually lost touch. However, some of my absolute greatest childhood memories were shared with Jack. We would phone each other most weekend mornings in winter and agree on a time to meet at the rink. (Most times, we were the first ones there and the last ones to leave.) His dad, Don, taught us how to be part of a team, (a lesson I have valued all of my life) and his mom, Shirley, was so sweet. I still recall how she was so excited when we defeated a heavily favoured team in the playoffs that she hugged and kissed me on the cheek at the end of the game.--Even though, I haven't seen Jack in over 50 years, I instantly recognized his impish grin.--I will never forget you, old friend, you will always be a part of me. I just learned today about Jack's passing and I am deeply saddened. Jack and I met in high school in Saskatoon, and, quickly became good buddies. Jack and I played on the same hockey teams for years. I told him, many times, that he was the most talented hockey player I'd ever played with. I thought he could have turned pro, he was that good. As the years went by we always stayed in touch. After Jack moved to Winnipeg and I to Calgary, we talked on the phone very often. He drove out and stayed with me, when I lived in Cochrane, a couple of times. I will miss our 1-2 hour phone conversations when we'd laugh ourselves silly with stories of the "good old days". Jack was one of my closest and dearest friends, I will never forget what a generous, and, caring man he was. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. My life was richer with Jack in it, I will feel the loss of his friendship always. Rest in peace, Jackie Boy. I hope his family will let me know when you will have his celebration of life, I would like to attend. - Posted by: John Gamble (long time good friend) on: Apr 16, 2022

To Jack's family and friends; I am saddened to hear of his passing and offer my condolences. I was fortunate to meet Jack many years ago on the ball diamond. Being a team mate of Jack made going to the park something to look forward to. A talented athlete and even better sport. Will never forget that hearty smile he gave to us when a good play was made. Thanks for the all the laughs and memorable times Jack! Chris Janzen - Posted by: Chris Janzen (Friend) on: Mar 30, 2022

I met Jack about 25 years ago through softball and we always stayed in touch. I was so happy when he came to a birthday party I had a few months before the world shut down. He could get sentimental but it just made him all the more easy to love. Please contact me with information about the service when you plan it. Thanks. My condolence for the loss of Jack. Jack and I worked at times together at Canada Post. He was also one of my teammates at bowling in the men's league at Coronation lanes a few years back. - Posted by: JIM LLEWELLYN (Working friend.) on: Feb 15, 2022

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Jack and I had become very close friends in the last few years. I loved him as a friend. Jack was a one of a kind guy. He was honest, faithful and always had a joke, never understood how he could remember them all. Jack made sure to keep in touch with all his friends on a regular basis and see how everyone was. I am so happy Jack spent Christmas with my partner and I and met family members he had never met before and he fit right in and was accepted by all as a life time friend. My sweet friend living without you will be so hard, I will miss our 1-2 hour conversations on the phone. Rest in peace until we meet again. your friend , Rowney David - Posted by: Rowney David (a best friend) on: Feb 15, 2022
