DONNA EILEEN GOERTZEN
(nee SEYMOUR)
October 16, 1950 - February 9, 2022
(age 71)
Donna peacefully passed on, with family by her side at St. Joseph's Home.
She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Eldon and Lillian Seymour. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Al) Goertzen in 2004; as well as her sister, Verna Brown in 2016. Donna leaves behind two sons, Brent Goertzen (Kimberley Froese) and Allan (aka Al) Goertzen (Chantal Catellier); her grandchildren, Justin (Sara), Kyle and Christine; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Sydney; her siblings, Darlene Hiebert (Al), Dave Seymour (Jan); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna held various jobs throughout her life from serving tables at the local Husky in Headingley; retiring in 2015 from AquaTech, after being employed there for 30 years. Our childhood was filled with fun and laughter because we had a mother like Donna. Mom enjoyed camping immensely. She camped with family and friends up until her first diagnosis with cancer. Memories by the lake are countless. One memory is of her listening to the Friday night Bomber game on the radio tuned on CJOB. Yes folks, she was a hard-core Bomber fan. She was elated seeing her team have back-to-back Grey Cup wins. Another great love of hers was Saturday afternoon bingo. She could be found at the Selkirk Legion listening for that B6!
Thank you, Mom, for all that you
have done for us. We love you very much!
At Donna's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Instead, please remember her through your memories and the times you have shared together.

My most vivid memories of Auntie Donna were with Uncle Al. They were always in our lives and brought loads of laughter and love to our home. Uncle Al and my Dad were hard core Truckers, which, (I think)is where Brent and Al got that itch! Auntie Donna spent a lot of time with my Mom watching curling while their husbands were on the road, keeping each other company and always laughing. I am sure that Uncle Al, Mom and Dad were waiting for her at Heaven's gate. Auntie Donna always made everything seem better, happier, she was kind, loving and never judged people. I will miss you Auntie and I will never forget you, or Uncle. Dance like nobody is watching xoxo - Posted by: Dorothy McLoughlin (Niece ) on: Feb 12, 2022

Very nice obituary, Mrs G would be proud. She is now in the comforting arms of your dad with muffin on her lap, riding a goldwing and can't believe she is now pain free.. adios Mrs.G and may you rest in peace. Its not a good bye forever, but a good bye for now..you and Brent will meet up with her and big Al and muffin again ...just be on the flipside. Stay strong and keep those memories locked away in your heart. When you miss her, just sit back, close your eyes, open your heart and she will be there.. Many hugs and fist pumps ❤️❤️❤️😇🙏❤️❤️❤️ - Posted by: Lonnie Denis &Lise and family (Brothers from another mother) on: Feb 12, 2022
