RICHARD MANN

On February 10, 2022, Richard Mann passed away at the age of 97 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie (nee Henkel) and sons, Fred (Caroline), Ed (Sue), Harry (Karen), Ken (Leah), grandchildren, Kristel Arnold (Brent), Kevin (Amanda), Adam (Sarah), Alisha Sherlock (Robert), Erika McQuaker (Matthew), Thomas (Kerri), Rachel, Daniel, Emily and 12 great-grandchildren.
Richard was born in Stanislavow, Poland. In October, 1949, he with his wife Lottie and son Fred immigrated from Lebestedt, Salzgitter, Germany to Winnipeg.
Richard loved travelling and took his family camping from Montreal to Victoria, BC. Later, he and Lottie enjoyed their trips to Hawaii and Mexico. As the family grew, he enjoyed helping his sons on their many renovation projects.
Richard and Lottie were active members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and served in the past on church council as well as helping with many maintenance projects. He enjoyed gardening and even at his residence, the Kiwanis Courts, he cherished his little garden plot.
The family would like to thank Pastor Meinhardt for his pastoral care; the staff of the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts and the medical staff of Victoria Hospital for their care of Richard.
Friends may honour his memory with a donation to a charity of their choice.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held.

  • On behalf of the Schulz family, please accept our deepest sympathies on Richard's passing. Our families interconnected in many ways over the years...but it was our shared time together on Greenwood Place that was the common thread. Richard was always a class act. A gentleman. A good husband and father. God bless the Mann family as you go through this difficult time. - Posted by: Harry Schulz (Family Friend/Neighbour) on: Feb 12, 2022
