VICKIE LYNNE CAMERON
January 19, 1949 - February 8, 2022
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Vickie Lynne Cameron at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was born in Winnipeg, MB, where she lived her whole life.
Vickie was predeceased by her parents, Leslie Cameron (Mabel) and her stepfather David Lawson.
Vickie had a zest for life, enjoyed travelling, and experiencing new adventures like learning to fly a plane just because she wanted to. She loved meeting new people and had the ability to instantly be friends with anyone she would meet. Vickie was the life of the party, she had an infectious laugh and loved to sing and dance. She was powerful woman with a gentle soul. Vickie would always be the first to offer help, even to the end when she became ill, she never stopped caring for everyone else around her before thinking of herself.
But, above all else, Vickie loved and lived for her children Zachary (Robynne) and Marlena (Christian) Dupuis who will lovingly miss her. She will also be greatly missed by her ex-husband Denis Dupuis, her mother Beryle Lawson, and her uncle Jim McKay. She was her mother's daughter to the end.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt and sincere thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital ICCS - especially the ICU nurses: Salomon, Carly, Jill, Paulo, and most of all Reggie; and Drs. Brudney, Jacobson, Aurora and fellow Dr. Christina for their care and empathy.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home. (Proof of vaccination required to attend). A Celebration of Life for Vickie will be held at the Fort Garry Hotel. Vickie loved a good gathering with her loved ones and if you would like to participate, please join using the link: https://youtu.be/-VFZNaOqvXE or access via the Thomson website.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society by calling 204-982-2041, for Vickie's love for all animals.
Mum, you were a force of nature, tall and beautiful, with the heart and soul of an angel. You were the strongest person and overcame so many of life's obstacles. Be at peace, you can rest now.

Our sincere condolences to Marlena, Christian, Zak, Robyn, mother Beryle and Denis. I met Vickie at TruServ more than 18 years ago. Cathy Gamby, Vickie and I became close friends and she called us the three musketeers. I am sure she would have had us riding horses if she could. Vickie loved animals. Vickie loved to come to the cottage. You could hear her coming down the road music blaring ,she would get out the car and yell: Hi Dear I’m here!. Vickie spent many hours with Cathy, my husband Vic and me enjoying hours of conversation and laughter. Her infectious laughter would even get the neighbours laughing. The word DEAR will always remind me of Vickie and probably no doubt many of you. Can hear her saying, HI Dear, Love you Dear, Bye Dear Vickie was a lady and special friend and will be greatly missed. Vickie (You're flying on your own) Love from Lorraine, Vic and Cathy. - Posted by: Lorraine and Vic Peterson (Friend ) on: Mar 13, 2022

I went to the chalet ounce and she said , I would love sueming, her dog, to go in the water and she don't want to go, son i throw sueming on the water and Vicky wanted to kill me, but sueming went by herself after that. God am gonna misses her. Marlena, Zack and Christian my hart is with you now. You can call me anytime to share good memory about that great lady. Sorry for the grammar. I am so sad and shocked to hear of the loss of Vickie. It's as clear as a bell, me getting off the plane from England and Vickie enveloping me in one of her very special hugs. She was a warm, strong, dynamic individual who embraced life and did not hesitate to welcome me back into hers. I miss our get togethers of family celebrations and later honoring the people we had lost. Music and dance was a great form of expression to Vickie and her keen sense of awareness in those around her amazed me. My heart goes out to Beryle, Marlena (Chris), Zach (Robyn) and family and friends, she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Lesley Lawson (Extended Family) on: Feb 14, 2022

Vickie became part of our family when she married our brother Denis. In the forty years we celebrated many holidays, festivals and family gatherings. In her younger years, she ran the Hawaiian Marathon and a number of Manitoba half marathons . Vickie enjoyed many things in her life. Music, reading, watching tennis competitions and riding on motorcycles when opportunity arose. But most of all, she enjoyed camping and going to the cottage on weekends. She could be seen hiking with us through forest trails and up and down hills or spending a quiet time strolling along the beach with her trusty pooch. On our last camping trip, Vickie was resting by the camp fire, reading a book, when she looked up, a bear was starring at her through the bush. They were both scared stiff. Finally one came to their senses . The bear moved on. Vicky was a happy soul, with a forgiving heart. Sleep well dear Vic-bag. We will all miss you. - Posted by: Janice and Richard Drummond (Sister and Brother in law ) on: Feb 13, 2022

Both Eva and I were shocked and so sorry. It was only such a short time since we had talked together. Such memories from the time I had babysat you so long ago yet seems like yesterday and just a few weeks ago me waiting eagerly for your latest instalment of email jokes and stories. Oh! I’ll miss you and them so much. Yet the Lord has requested your presence and you could not let him down. Rest In Peace - Posted by: Jim McKay (Uncle ) on: Feb 13, 2022

Sent from Nana's iPad 10.2 BiaLu 💑 It is with much sadness that I write this missive for our dear friend. My husband, Biagio met Vic over 40 years ago at Qualico. He had previously met Dennis while on work internship at Winspear Higgins. Soon after we married in 1977 we began to see Vic and Den as a couple. Later we became Godparents to our beautiful Marlena. Our visits were always filled with laughter and good fun. I especially remember Vic’s terrific roast beef and the best pork chops ever! As the years went by, we unfortunately lost track of one another after both Biagio and Vic left Qualico for other positions. Following Marlena’s grade 12 graduation, Vickie and I (Lucille) reacquainted ourselves over lunch and never looked back. I was interested in returning to outings at MTC and Vic was always game to try new things. We were joined by my friend Lee and the 3 of us made a jolly trio with season tickets involving MTC and Prairie Theatre Exchange as well as other local theatre experiences. With our trusty chauffeur service (Biagio) we enjoyed our outings tremendously. As well as trying various restaurants, it became our habit to have a special outing to the 529 Patio each summer and the Gates dining room each winter. We enjoyed all of them but really loved the last two. I know that Lee and I will always remember our Vic when we visit them. We will always see her with her hair in a ponytail, a huge smile on her face, in a hurry to embrace the freedom of a day out and to tell us of her recent adventures or to share life’s challenges. In many ways, Vic was a private person. That she felt comfortable to share much of her personal struggles with us… was a true gift of friendship. We shall miss her. - Posted by: Lucille & Biagio Bisignano (Friends) on: Feb 12, 2022

I met Vickie, after my heart attack, and subsequent enrolment in the Cardiac Rehab Program. We all became friends, through the program and meeting up at RehFit, or coffee elsewhere. We supported each other, after a life altering experience for all of us. Pot lucks at Lenore’s cottage, were always much anticipated. Vickie enjoyed a good laugh and truly was the type of friend who looked you in the face and listened to your response to a question. She will be missed. My sincere condolences to Vickie’s family and friends. - Posted by: Marilyn Wardell (Friend) on: Feb 12, 2022

My Memories of Vickie were that she had that wonderful laugh that filled the room and when she asked how you were or what was going on in your life she paid such wonderful attention to all you had to say. She was genuinely interested. We go back many years because our Mom's were such Good Friends and all the times we got to share over those years as we grew up. I send my condolences and Love to Aunty Beryl, Marlena, Zachary and Family. - Posted by: Sandra (Sandy) Bibeau (Extended Family) on: Feb 12, 2022
