Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My group "Until It's No Fun" played at Fairview many times pre COVID and we always knew that Joe would be front and centre. He loved playing his tambourine along with the band no matter what. Luckily we were fortunate enough be able to play a Christmas show this past December and see all of our friends including Joe. I will miss singing Hallelujah to him as he loved that song. Rest in peace my dear friend. Polly Schoonbaert (Bandmate in Until it's No Fun) - Posted by: Polly Schoonbaert (friend) on: Feb 28, 2022

  • Our group, ‘’Shameless Folk" volunteered it’s time regularly (except during Covid) at Fairview in Brandon. We hadn’t played too many times there when Joe thought he should become a member of our group and purchased a tambourine! What he lacked in talent was more than compensated for with enthusiasm and he happily played along with us for the whole set - fast or slow!! It was clear he faced his challenges with courage and determination and with the big smile that others have mentioned. When we play some music again at Fairview, we’ll all be thinking of him and he will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his extended family. • Uncle Joey always had a smile on his face and laugh in his heart. He taught us all about living life fully, no matter what obstacles we might face personally. I will be forever grateful for this lesson. - Posted by: Barbara Isman (Niece) on: Feb 19, 2022
