JACK AARON JONAH ROSENBERG January 28, 1933 - January 25, 2022

Sadly, after a long illness, our father passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, British Columbia.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife and our cherished Mom Elaine after 57 years of marriage; parents, Rose and Joe Rosenberg; and his three siblings, Miriam (Harold) Kopelow, Dr. Sid Rosenberg and Esther (Jim) Bermack.
Dad will be greatly missed by daughter Lisa Rosenberg and partner Gordon Menzies, son David Rosenberg; grandsons, Liam and Aidan; daughter-in-law Jennie Anstey and family, foster son and brother Darrin Scott and family; cousins, Terri and David Marr and their children, Daniel (Robyn) Marr, Corey Marr (Candice Faktor), Andrea (Eric) Aizer and their families, Susan Fox and her daughter Alana Fox and family, Colleen Rosenberg, Sander Rosenberg and Susie Snider, Barry and Audrey Bermack and their children, Jordanna and Lauren, close and extended family, friends and colleagues.
Dad spent his early childhood years in Stonewall and moved with his family to Winnipeg. He was a graduate of Kelvin High School, a University of Manitoba graduate achieving his Master's degree in Psychology and he undertook his PhD at the University of Toronto.
Jack was a Psychologist who worked at the Child Guidance Clinic (now called Educational Clinical Supports) and counselled many children through the years in the Winnipeg school system. He enjoyed a special camaraderie with staff at the Child Guidance Clinic for over 30 years. He was a mentor and advocate for many kids during his tenure and was a respected colleague. He also practised privately as a Psychologist in Winnipeg for a few years before retirement.
Our parents retired to British Columbia's verdant coast on Vancouver Island. Dad conveyed his uncompromising ideals by cleverly designing the house that Jack built and fulfilling his dream of retiring with our Mom to live in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia for several years together.
Heartfelt thanks to Laura and the compassionate staff at Trillium Lodge for their special long-term care of our Dad and Mom, to Kerry and staff from Nurse Next Door for their caring and long-term companionship for our Dad.
Donations can be made in Jack's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba (10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2), Y.M.H.A. (5400 Westbury Ave., Montreal QC H3W 2W8), Trillium Lodge (401 Moilliet St., Parksville, BC V9P 2G9) or to a charity of your choice.
