KENNETH FRANK CISZEWSKI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Frank Ciszewski on Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.
Ken was born in Gimli, MB on September 15, 1956. He was predeceased by his father, Adolph Ciszewski, his stepfather Tony Pasieka, his brother Barry Ciszewski, and his mother Pauline Pasieka. Ken is survived by his siblings, Carol Ciszewski (Jim), Anne Isfeld (Russell), Barb Hess (Derek), Matthew Pasieka (Amanda), Margaret LaRocque (Dave), and nephews, Travis Isfeld (Emma), John Isfeld (Haley) and Steven Hess (Madison).
Ken grew up and worked hard on the family farm. After high school, Ken moved to Winnipeg to find work. He worked as a parking attendant, then for CN Rail. Soon he found work at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg, first as an orderly, and then as a unit clerk in the Dialysis Department. Ken gave his best efforts to every task and was committed to a job well done. In Ken's earlier days, he enjoyed swimming, golfing and fishing. Hnausa dock was one of his favourite places to go fishing. In the last few years as his health restricted him, his favourite pastimes were working on his computer, working on his garden which was on the roof top at his apartment building, and looking for good deals at yard sales. Ken liked to watch curling and loved the Winnipeg Jets. He rarely missed watching a game. Throughout all his life, the one thing that remained most important to Ken, was spending time with family, even if it was not in person, a telephone call would do. He would call just to ask how everyone was doing.
The family would like to thank Calvary Place Personal Care Home, Gimli Betel Personal Care Home and the hospital staff that provided care in his last days.
The Lord has called Ken home. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Stan Gacek officiating. All public health orders will be followed and proof of vaccination will be required to attend. Interment to follow at the Polish Pioneer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Our deepest sympathies to Ken's family. My mother Mary Bossuyt (nee Ciszewski) was an aunt to Ken, as her brother Walter Ciszewski was Ken's grandfather. We would periodically visit Ken's mother Pauline and her family at the original Ciszewski homestead in Husavik over the years. We cherish these memories and hold them dear to our hearts. - Posted by: Joyce Dusik (Bossuyt) (Cousin) on: Feb 26, 2022

  • I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Anne and family on the loss of Ken. I met Ken back in 2000 when we both attended college in Winnipeg. We became friends and stayed connected through the years. I always enjoyed my many phone conversations with him and I will miss not hearing from him. Rest in Peace Ken! - Posted by: Debbie McLeod (Friend) on: Feb 24, 2022
