GERALDINE HOLMES
Geraldine Alice Holmes passed away on February 22, 2022 in Seven Oaks Hospital after a brief illness, at the age of 81.
Born in Winnipeg on August 17, 1940, Geri was the daughter of Alice (Dolly) and Fred Holmes. She grew up in Norwood, graduating from Norwood Collegiate, and later travelled in Europe, working for several years in London, England. Subsequently, she served veterans and their families in her position at Veterans Affairs Canada in Winnipeg.
She was predeceased by her partner, Gordon Barrable in 2010. Geri will be sadly missed by her sister Judy; her brother Rick (Patricia); nephew Paul; stepson Seth; step-grandson Tim and her many cousins and friends.
She had a warm sense of humour and family members recall the merriment she provoked with her stories and jokes.
Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date. Sincere thanks for the compassionate care Geri received from the staff at both Seven Oaks Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre.

Gerry as we all called her was a wonderful lady. I worked with her for a number of years. We became good friends and she was the Godmother for my daughter Dawn. I only found out today ( Oct 14th ) of her passing.. She is in a better place.
