ROBERT TOUGAS
February 6, 1931 - February 19, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father at the age of 91. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dad is now reunited with our mom, Doreen, his loving wife of 52 years, and with our brother, Marc.
Bob will be sadly missed by his family: Lorraine and Gerry Desautels, Eliane and Gary Broda, Paul and Paulette Tougas, his grandchildren, Jason, Shawn, Michelle, Kyle, Renée and Julien, and four great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Mimi Pattyn, Guy and Ida Levesque, Margaret Kirley, Mona and Ernie Sedleski, Florence Pollock, Joan Levesque, Barbara Tougas and Bernard Carrière, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Laurent Auguste and Héloïse Tougas; and his sisters and brothers, Gratia, Denise, Ubald, Lorenzo, and Marcel.
After working for many years, Bob retired from Manitoba Hydro to enjoy travelling, including to his favourite place, Zimbabwe, Africa.
He was a proud member of AA for 44 years. He sponsored and helped many people, most of whom became friends. Bob loved going for coffee at the Cordon Bleu, enjoying laughs with his buddies, and loving his pie and ice cream!
Bob lived at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne for the past 18 years, where a sense of purpose energized him decorating, serving meals, serving friends and community, and just generally volunteering wherever a helping hand was needed. It was truly home for him. A special thanks to the devoted staff, Nicole Trudeau, Marie-Claude Pelletier, many friends, Gilles Gagnon, and Soeur Irène Rioux, for their kindness and to all those who took such good care of him. He appreciated your friendship so very much.
A special thank you to Guy and Ida Levesque, and the Godin family for your generosity, many meals, and all the care and attention you gave our dad over the years.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the team at CancerCare Manitoba for their extended support, and most recently, to the staff at Concordia Hospital for their guidance and excellent care.
Should friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
A celebration of Bob's life is planned to take place this summer.
Salut Pops! À notre prochain projet!
Je t'aime toujours. - Paul.
SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to
accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

Our deepest condolences. Uncle Bob was one of a kind. I didn’t see him often but when I did he always had some “colourful” advice to offer. He will be missed. - Posted by: Dan Tougas (Nephew) on: Feb 26, 2022
