DEBRA LOIS MURDOCH
October 2, 1966 - February 21, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the premature loss of our beloved Debbie, loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Grace Hospital, after a long, fierce, and courageous, battle caused by a heart complication.
Predeceased by her adoring father Stephen, left to mourn are her mother Evelyn, her husband Mike; daughters, Jessica (Keevin) and Rebekah; and grandson Holden.
Debbie loved travelling, skiing, cooking, and music. She was creative, talented, and a classically trained pianist. That said, it was when she started her job at the Rising Sun, over 20 years ago, when she found her true calling.
She loved her job and her students. She had an innate ability to see the true potential in people and to help them recognize and celebrate these gifts within themselves.
Debbie's huge heart, strength, drive, awesome sense of humour and culinary delights, will be missed by so many.
By request, no immediate service will be held.

Thank you for being such a wonderful, selfless person.
Thank you for being such a loving mother.
You were the heart of the Rising Sun.
You were the world to your husband.
We promise to follow your wise words
and to live our best lives.
We will remember you and love you always.
Rest in peace, our sweet Debbie.

  • The Rossbrook House community would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Mike and Debbie’s beloved family and friends. Debbie was an extraordinary person who gave of her gifts freely, especially to the students at Rising Sun. Debbie’s deep compassion was paired with a practical can-do attitude that made her a go-to person for students and all the rest of us. A powerful advocate who continued make calls on behalf of students regardless of her sick status. Debbie will be deeply missed, but her spirit has infused all of us who had the privilege of knowing her. Rossbrook House will hold an outdoor ceremony this spring to celebrate Debbie’s life. When a date has been chosen we will make the invitation to family and friends through social media and a posting on the Rossbrook House website www.rossbrookhouse.ca - Posted by: Phil Chiappetta (Rossbrook House) on: Mar 02, 2022
