JON ALLAN MEDER
1948-2022
The sisters of Jon Meder announce with sadness, the passing of our brother. Our glorious baby brother Jon left us on January 2, 2022 and walked into the arms of our smiling mother Mary, January 3!
His strength, humor, kindness and joy of life touched all who knew and adored him, as sisters, Mary Ann and Diane; nephews, Sean and Dean did.
He bulldozed on the football field in his younger years. Excelled in his chosen career as a Commercial developer. Jon's heartfelt kindness came through in flying colours many times in his life. In assembling land for a massive project, he spent over a year to search for a home for one retired property owner who did not want to move. The man repaid him with tears of gratitude.
Jon was a proud member of the Vancouver Golf Club.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Ann and Diane and nephews, Sean and Dean.
Celebration of Jon's life will be held at The Vancouver Golf Club May 3 at 1 p.m.

So sorry to read about the sudden passing of Jon. Jon was a best friend to my husband Ron and Best Man at our August, 1969 wedding. The last time I saw Jon was at Ron's memorial service in Vancouver June 2002. Jon and Ron loved golfing and spent many wonderful times together golfing. It was so nice to see Jon at Ron's memorial service and catch up on life. Jon was always a sincere, kind friend and will be missed. Rest in Peace Jon - Posted by: Carole Rickey (Friend ) on: Mar 07, 2022

A long time ago Jon and his sisters would go with me and his fabulous father to fish. After copious amounts of lemonade courtesy of aunt Mary we would spend the day having a great time trying to catch fish in a boat or from the shore. Never stayed in touch despite my wife and I being in the same place with the same numbers for the past 50 years. Great memories from my childhood. - Posted by: Bill meder (Cousin) on: Mar 06, 2022

The last time I saw Jon was in Winnipeg when he and I, and Jim August spent a wonderful summer afternoon, on the golf course. That day there was lots of laughter and memories shared. Yes, I think that we might have been 17 again, if only for a few hours. Jon and I had met in high school and forged a lifelong friendship. It never mattered how long it had been since we had last seen each other, as we were always able to pick up where we left off, happy to be in each other’s company. I will miss him , his intelligence, his sense of humour, his presence. My condolences to Jon’s sisters in the loss of their “little” brother. - Posted by: Barbara Levesque (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2022

Sincerest condolences to Jon’s family in his passing. I was recently talking to another friend about him and the raucous times we had during our university days. He was a good friend, a pleasure to share time with and we had so much fun driving around in his TR4 in those days, socializing and talking about our personal plans after University. We lost track of each other after he moved to BC but I am glad things worked out well for him, he was always a go getter and a risk taker. RIP Jon (Meatball to his buddies back then). I have many cherished memories of Jon from back in the day, high school and beyond, when we were young and carefree and the future looked bright. Though we were later separated by life and circumstance, he's always had a special place in my heart. So very sorry to know he's gone. Never forgotten. - Posted by: Natalie (Judith) Dickson (friend) on: Mar 04, 2022

Sorry to read that Jon has passed and I extend condolences to his family members. We shared many pool games, coffees and "discussions" about life, marginal cost/benefit analyses and lots of laughs. Jon moved West and I moved East so we lost touch - but he is remembered by many who knew him. Glad to hear he enjoyed his life - does not get better than that for any of us! - Posted by: allan william mitchell (high school and university buddy) on: Mar 04, 2022

I believe I knew him as a friend when we lived on Church Ave. in Winnipeg's North end. His father, I believe, was a plumber. - Posted by: Terrance Richard Machalek (neighbour) on: Mar 04, 2022
