ANDREW (ANDY) DUPUIS
Peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Andy Dupuis, aged 97, years passed away.
Andy will be missed by his loving wife Jean of 70 years; daughter Jeannette (Brian) Kozun and sister Adeline Starodub and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Walter; parents, David and Elide Dupuis; brothers, Bill (Anne) and Marcel (Kay); sisters, Rose (Joe) Salnek, Cecile (Ovila) Berard and Alice; as well as his brother in-law Walter Starodub.
Andy was born in 1924 near St. Elizabeth, MB. The family moved to the farm in 1927 to St. Jean Baptiste, 1938 to the Kirkness area. In 1951 he married Jean and moved to Selkirk where he started to work for the Gerdau Steel Mill (Melting Dept.) for 32 years and had been happily retired from the mill for almost 38 years. In his retirement, he loved fishing, gardening and bowling. He enjoyed volunteer activities, making perogies with the CWL and Gordon Howard Seniors, maintenance work at Notre Dame Parish and helped set up tables for the funeral lunches. He especially enjoyed the challenge of fixing all kinds of things for his family and friends. But very important to him was his faith life that gave him great strength. He has been a member of Notre Dame Parish since 1938.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Selkirk Regional Heath Centre for the care they gave him during his last days. We especially would like to thank all the staff, that are truly angels for looking after him so well for the past couple of years at the Selkirk Betel Home.
Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 269 Jemima Street, Selkirk, MB with Fr. Gerald Langevin officiating. Interment will take place later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Notre Dame Catholic Church Building Fund.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
