LORRAINE BOUCHARD

1930 – 2022

On March 1, 2022, Lorraine Marie Bouchard, daughter of the late Patrice and Marie Jeannotte of Laurier, MB, passed away peacefully at the Action Marguerite, after many years having Dementia and Alzheimer's.
Beloved spouse for 61 years to Henri Bouchard; loving mother of Janet (David) and Marc (Ginette); proud Grandmother to Amanda, Johnathan, Jessica (Hugo), Jeremy and Jasmine; sister to deceased brothers Adrian (Shirley), Ernest (Rita); deceased sisters Therese (Jack), Aline (Mike), Patricia (Bill). She is also survived by her brother and sisters Gilbert (Julie), Josette (Gene), Mariette and Vivianne (Bert); plus, a brother-in-law and many sisters-in-laws on the Bouchard side with whom she related splendidly.
Lorraine was born October 17, 1930. At 14 she had passed primary school then was needed at home. At 17 she went to St. Jerome, Quebec, where work was available in manufacturing and where Aunt Andrea lived. At 23 she returned to Manitoba and at 26 (in 1956) she married Leonard Neumeyer, an Air Force Pilot/Navigator, who passed away accidentally in 1956. In July 1959, Henri on vacation noticed her and in July 1960 they were married. Lorraine loved life and attracted many friends. She was a great housekeeper, cook and seamstress; loved knitting (afghans) dish clothes etc. Her favourite sport was curling, with lots of laughs and hi-fives. All was well until Dementia interfered and major decisions led to various moves until Lorraine was admitted to the Action Marguerite Centre in St. Boniface.
Merci Beaucoup aux gens de Residence Tache, 3DE/Action Marguerite Centre, especially during these last months in all aspects of caring for Lorraine as well as Henri. Thank you!
Memorial Service will be held on March 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Those attending are requested to provide proof of vaccination.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to Action Marguerite.
