Corine Walker passed away at the Swan Valley Hospital at the age of 86 years.
She was born in Saskatoon and raised in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Cedar, British Columbia and Swan River, Manitoba. Business Management training led to working in Edmonton, as well as in Winnipeg 1 School Division. She enrolled in Manitoba Teachers College and embarked on a teaching career at Lenswood, God's Lake, Narrows and Lac Du Bonnet.
After retirement, Corine became the office manager for MLA Doug Gourlay, MP Brian White and MLA Parker Burrell.
Predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Edith Walker and sister Andrea Paul. She is survived by sister Kathleen Riddell; brother Tom Walker; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Corine was an avid sports fan. Riders, Expos, Leafs, Jets and Blue Jays were her favourite teams. She was an active participant in golf and curling. At home, she was a gardener and "fixer" of all things and there was always a dog in the house.
At her request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date. If desired, a donation can be made to your favourite charity. She would want you to take a moment to remember shared experiences. Thank you, to Corine's caregivers, especially, Sara and Eric.
Paull Funeral Home and Crematorium
was honored to have served the family.
